Who are CS GET CRAFTY?

We are a mother & daughters team, Clair, Sharni & Sofie who have decided to take the plunge & open our very own little craft shop online.

Our aim with our online shop is to stock all the items we genuinely love to play with & we hope that you love them too.
Together we run weekly Card making, Scrapbooking, Copic colouring & Art Journaling workshops from our Studio based just outside Brighton.
We organise weekend craft retreats most of which tie in with all the big UK craft shows.
We also organise a group trip to USA every 2 years - It's amazing!! A couple of weeks shopping the USA craft shops, attending private craft workshops at the very best stores & of course, a bit of sight seeing too. We just love it!

CLAIR: Being creative has always been a huge part of my life whether it's card making, scrapbooking, photography or blogging - I have to do something creative every day! Over the years I've tried all sorts Sewing, Knitting, Jewellery making, Cross stitch, Embroidery, etc etc etc....

About 15 years ago I discovered scrapbooking, which I love, It's great to be able to take a simple photo & turn it into something special, make it tell a story & become something hopefully my children will treasure forever. Scrapbooking then led onto Card making & Stamping - All the wonderful stamps, papers, ribbons, flowers, bling!! I soon became a collector!!! Who can resist buying the latest, most stylish stash??!! Scrapbooking also allows me to indulge my love of photography, it gives me the perfect excuse to get the 'big girl' camera out & take more photos :)

In 2008 I became a Stampin Up Demonstrator - This enabled me to share my love of papercrafts with others. I started running craft workshops & although I no longer do Stampin up, the workshops have continued & have been running for 12 years now - I absolutely LOVE doing them because without a doubt the VERY best part of this crafting journey has to be all the friends I have made, my 'crafty' friends really do mean the world to me & I am grateful to each of them for taking time out of their lives to be a part of mine.

I am extremely proud to have been part of the design team for many great brands, Lili of the Valley, Besties, Craft Stash & a few more. I've also been lucky enough to have had my work featured in many papercraft magazines..Picking up a magazine in a shop & seeing a 4 page spread of your work is just awesome!!

Aside from crafting, I'm a bit of a magpie too! I love rummaging around antiques shops, charity shops & carboot sales searching for treasures - I like to collect. handbags, shoes, jewellery, silver, bears & vintage compacts are a few of my current favourites.

I think i'm a little OCD too, everything has to be organised, labelled & in the right place - I catalogue, photograph & keep records of all my collectables - I have to be organised at all times, I can't stand the thought of anything being out of place.

I'm married to my childhood sweetheart & very best friend Alan, we've been together 30 years now so he knows how to put up with my madness :)
We live in the wonderful city of Brighton in the UK. We are all born & raised here - I can't imagine living anywhere else! As much as we love to travel, Brighton will always be home.
I'm mum to two wonderful girls, Sharni & Sofie - I'm thankful my creativity has been passed on to them - They both love photography & crafting, we'll often spend hours together either out exploring & taking photos or getting covered in ink, glue & glitter in the studio.
SHARNI: In 2016 I joined mum in running the workshops, they had increased in size, so to be able to have both mum & I there made a massive difference. I too thoroughly enjoy anything creative but photography & scrapbooking are my main passions.

I have a vast amount of knowledge in IT & computer skills so setting up the online craft shop was a natural progression from the workshops for me.. I tend to take care of the technical side of things whilst mum sorts out all the stock & Sofie does all the customer orders. We're a great team!
Sofie & I also work as a specialist carers in Brighton, we love this job & we're extremely thankful to be able to pick & choose our hours, which means we can take more time out for crafting.
SOFIE: I became part of Get Crafty once I finished college in 2019, my role is to process all the customer orders - I'm far better at this that Mum or Sharni!! LOL - I also list all new stock on the shop & most importantly I'm the 'tea girl' as all the workshop ladies like my tea the best! :)  My favourite thing to craft is ATC's but I'm also beginning to enjoy Scrapbooking too, i'm enjoying seeing my first 12x12 album come together.
The craft/shop journey so far has been a fun one & we're looking forward to seeing what the future brings...
